MISSION: The mission of the Motor City Fringe Festival is to create an all inclusive performing arts festival where artists can be seen and heard, to encourage experimentation and expression, and to provide affordable outlets for poignant and important work that contributes to the rebirth of our city and its growing arts community.
HISTORY: A Fringe Festival is defined as a performance festival that seeks the edgy, experimental and never in a box. A movement that started in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Fringes now appear across the U.S. and all over the world.
FRINGE IS: Uncensored, because we believe in free speech. From swearing and nudity to clean and traditional, you can find it all at fringe festivals. Easy, with low ticket prices for audiences and low production costs for artists, fringe is accessible to all. Fast, tech is quick and kept to a minimum, and time is a factor. Shows are brief (on average 60 minutes) and technical requirements are simple (festival light plot, minimum cues, props, and costumes).
Inclusive, artsy, never in a box...
Registration begins February 1st, 2019. More info to come.
